META DESIGN

In real world construction projects, scaffolding is a temporary structure used to support a work crew and materials to aid in the construction of man-made structures. It provides the necessary support to erect vertical columns and horizontal beams, ultimately facilitating the creation of functional spaces that incorporate shared communications and other relevant utility infrastructures.

The Knowledge Habitat “Scaffolding” is a direct translation of the above concept. Here, scaffolding is intended for the systematic creation of cognitive structures, frameworks that support the development, flow and implementation of ideas and knowledge for the purpose of cultivating an innovation ecosystem. One important distinction is the Knowledge Habitat meta design is predicated to modelling the dynamicly active and living structures of stigmergic systems like beehives as opposed to passive structures like libraries buildings.

Knowledge Habitat process is entirely organic to enable the Incremental development of differentiated/versatile/flexible spaces; support services; communication and collaboration tools; and shared Infrastructure.

Borrowing insights from the fields of ecology and agent-based complex adaptive system (cas) models, KNOWLEDGE HABITAT is a meta design approach to emerging an intersectional space between collective Human intelligence (C.I) and Artificial Inteligence (A.I) capabilities. It represents a shift in innovation philosophy from a top-down mindset to an organic bottom–up approach.

KNOWLEDGE HABITAT is designed as a multi-agent knowledge ecosystem to host and enable the dynamic interactions between its innovation communities through an evolutionary network of collaborations. It is structured as a network of modular spaces. Each space is specifically conceived to host a distinct activity that is at once autonomous and coherent part of a mosaic whole. Linkages and collaborations between spacial activities are synched, mediated and brokered across 7 layers of aggregation.
